Instructions to Authors
The Journal welcomes the submission of unsolicited manuscripts regarding current topics in international economic law.
Manuscripts: Authors are requested to provide two typed or word-processed double- spaced manuscripts with one-inch margins. Authors are requested to conform to The Chicago Manual of Style (15th ed. 2003). It is Journal policy that all articles be gender-neutral. All unpublished manuscripts are the property of the Journal and will not be returned to the author.
Abstracts: Authors are requested to provide a brief, publishable abstract summarizing the contents of the aubmission.
References and Footnotes: Complete bibliographical information, including dates, should be provided for all works referred to in the text. Citations must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed. 2005). Because all citations must be verifiable by the editors, all sources must be readily available in the United States or must be sent by the author upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication.
Biographical Material: A brief biographical star-note should precede the first citation of the manuscript. Authors are requested to submit a current resume or curriculum vitae with their submissions.
Tables and Graphics: Tables, diagrams, drawings, graphs, and other illustrations must be reproducible originals. They should be presented on separate sheets in a large size. Each table and graphic should have an Arabic number, a caption, and an indication of where it should appear in the text. Authors are requested to refer to tables and graphics by number.
If an offer of publication is extended, the author should submit the article over email or on a 3 1⁄2 inch diskette, in Microsoft Word format. The Journal will accept electronic manuscripts at its email address: jil@law.upenn.edu. Electronic submissions will not be accepted without the author’s curriculum vitae. Authors should contact the Editor-in-Chief or Articles Editor at the address below or at (215) 898-6869 with any questions.
